In this book, she tells the somber story of a Turkish girl named Ebru, whose nightmarish life consumes her both physically and mentally.
Alongside Ebru’s (Abby’s) story, the author sheds light on the lives and struggles of Turkish and other immigrants who dream of living the American Dream- a dream that can sometimes be incredibly difficult to achieve.
About the author
Tulay Duygulu Pırlant was born in Manisa, Türkiye. She worked as an English teacher in several high schools. She has also published articles in newspapers and magazines. She moved to the United States in 1985. Over the course of twenty-five years, she has witnessed many stories, met numerous people, and experienced real-life events that inspired her to write her books. Her Published Books: Windy City, (Rüzgarlı Şehir); You Must Be Born Again, (Yeniden Doğmalısın); Until We Meet Again, (Tekrar Buluşuncaya Kadar); Touching Time in the Light of Love, (Sevginin Işığında Zamana Dokunmak); New American Jokes; Anemon. Her Screenplays: Anemon; Comrades of Hope, (Umut Yoldaşları). She is also a member of the International Association of Activist Artists. Inspired by real-life events, Windy City novel draws upon a true story personally witnessed by the author. The film adaptation of the book Windy City, starring Patrick Muldoon and Nehir Erdoğan, was produced in Hollywood and released as Broken Angel in the US and Meleğin Sırları in Türkiye. She is living in Chicago and İzmir.
